People Outreach Programme
The PCBA has been carrying out People Outreach Programmes (POP) of its own as well as collaborating with other institutes/organizations of high repute and NGOs to promote – research in the field of science and environment, awareness building activities on environmental issues, sustainable environmental management practices, promotion of Mission LiFE action points etc. A brief note on few such programmes are given below –
=North East Research Conclave on Sustainable Science and Technology
The Conclave was organised by IIT, Guwahati from 20th to 22nd May, 2022. The PCBA extended its financial support to this conclave and also curates a pavilion dedicated to sustainable technologies and innovations wherein there was an exhibition stall showcasing various initiatives of the Board. Besides, there are several stalls of other industrial houses in the pavilion for exhibition of their initiatives and innovations under the banner of PCBA. The pavilion of the Board was visited by Hon’ble Union Minister of Education, Govt. of India, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan; Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma and Hon’ble Minister of State, Education, Govt. of India, Dr. Subhas Sarkar.

Conclave on Hydrocarbon Pollutants.
The SECONE – Society formed by the Energy sector organizations operating in North East India and Pollution Control Board Assam jointly organised a conclave on “Hydrocarbon Pollutants in the Environment of Assam: the Challenges, Opportunities and Road Map Ahead” on 03rd March, 2023 at NEDFi House, Guwahati.

North East Science Communicators’ Conference.
The Conference was organised by the Department of Communication & Journalism, Gauhati University and Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India in association with Pollution Control Board, Assam (PCBA) on 16th and 17th March, 2023 at Gauhati University, Guwahati. The PCBA also put up an exhibition stall as side line of the event wherein the action points of Mission LiFE, the activity highlights of the Board along with few air and water quality measuring machines and devices were demonstrated.

World Water Day, 2023
The Board supports Institution of Engineers (India), the Assam State Centre, in organising the World Water Day, 2023 with theme – Accelerating Change. The Hon’ble Chairman of the Board Dr Arup Kumar Misra has also participated in the event as Chief Guest.

State Level Children’s Science Festival
The Board collaborated with Gyan Vigyan Samiti Assam, Guwahati City Committee in organising the 26th State Level Children’s Science Festival at Nartap High School, Sonapur held on 21st to 24th March 2023. A large number of students were participated in the event. Dr. Arup Kumar Misra, Chairman, PCBA and Er. Gokul Bhuyan, ACEE, PCBA have participated in the event as Chief Guest and Resource Person respectively and interacted with the children.
