Awarness Campaign at Schools

Awareness on environmental issues among the common masses – more especially among the student community, can be an important tool for environmental management. It makes the implementation of various environmental management plans easier and effective. The PCBA has been carrying out various awareness raising programme among the student community of the State on different environmental issues with basic objectives – to sensitize the young generation on environmental problems; to acquaint them with ‘easy to follow’ tips to deal with the environmental problems; to encourage them to innovate ideas and to get involve in the problem solving processes. To make the awareness campaign at schools more successful different methods were adopted by the Board like – popular talk by resource persons; interaction session; discussion; power point presentation; demonstration; activities in the school premises; distribution of educational materials like – leaflets, flyers etc.

Awareness Meets / Discussions organized by ROs and RLOs of the Board in 2022-2023:

1. Awareness meet on “Solid Waste Management” with specific reference to SUP on 02.06.2022 at M.C College, Barpeta.
2. Awareness meet on SUP on 03.06.2022 at Birjhora H.S School and Birjhora Girls H.S School, Bongaigaon.
3. Awarness meet on Solid Waste Management and SUP in association with Sri Sri Anirudhader Jr. Collge on 05.06.2022.
4. Awarness meeting on Solid waste(including Plastic Waste) Management at B. Borooah College on 19.05.2023.
5. Campus talk was organised in association with G Plus at Gauhati Commerce College on 04.06.2023

Awarness meeting on Bio Medical  Waste Management and Implementation of Barcode was organised in collaboration with Apollo Hospital and Sri Sankardeva Netralaya on 21.09.2023.

Awarness meet to improve Air Qualty of Guwahati in collaboreation with  Aranyak,A Biodiversity Conservation & Research Organisation and Environmental Cell, Arya Vidyapeeth College on 18.03.2023.

11. Awareness meeting was conducted with the students and faculty members of Rajiv Gandhi Inst. of Petrolium Technology, Sivasagar on 17th March,2023.
12. Awareness meeting was conducted with the students and faculty members of Sivasagar Commerce College regarding impact and control measures of air pollution on 18th March, 2023.
13. Awareness meeting was conducted with the students and faculty members of Sivasagar Girls College regarding impact and control measures of air pollution on 20th March,2023.
14. Awareness meeting was conducted with the students and faculty members of Sivasagar College, Joysagar regarding air pollution on 28th March, 2023.
15. Awareness meeting was conducted with the students and faculty members of Rangapara College, Sonitpur regarding bioaccumulation of Hazardous chemicals.
16. Awareness meeting was conducted at LGB Regional Institute of Mental Health, Tezpur regarding discussion on implementation of BMWM Rules2016.
17. 2 nos. of awareness programme were conducted at 2 different Educational Institution of Nagaon Town on Air Pollution.
